Cement Board (Cemboard)
Specifications
Details
Fibre Cement Board, commonly referred to as Cemboard, is a durable sheet composed of cement and cellulose fibers. It is designed for use in both interior and exterior applications and can be easily attached to wood or steel studs.
Primary Uses
Cemboard is widely used as a backing material for tile installations. Since tile is often applied in areas exposed to moisture—such as bathrooms, kitchens, and laundry rooms—having a water-resistant backing is crucial. Cemboard is superior to paper-covered gypsum board, as it does not promote mold or mildew growth and will not disintegrate after prolonged moisture exposure.
